How to Save Ugly Buildings

The folks over at the National Trust’s PreservationNation blog put together this slideshow with some tips and tools about it!

Mark Twain once called this building the “ugliest in America” and President Truman once called it a “monstrosity”:

OOEBYup…that is the Eisenhower/Old Executive Office Building next door to the White House in DC. It was spared from demolition twice in 1957 and 1960 until the GSA said that it would “stand indefinitely” in 1961. We have to care about and preserve recent past buildings too! That task becomes kind of hard–OK, downright difficult–when people think they are “ugly.”
