I am the 2014 National Trust for Historic Preservation Mildred Colodny Diversity Scholar for Graduate Studies in Historic Preservation Studies. As part of my application, I expressed an interest in speaking at this year’s annual PastForward conference in Savannah, Georgia. I was so thrilled to be given that chance! I spoke about “Connections: Relaying, Relating and Relevancy of Stories from Underrepresented Communities.”
I was the only graduate student to present their own Power Session at the conference and it was well-received and attended. I will do another post about the topic itself later, but I really enjoyed it and the Q&A session afterwards. We had started to run over! I look forward to the conference being in my hometown of D.C. next year. See you there!
