So here I am at this year’s National Trust PastForward conference with Kate, my best friend from grad school…

Years ago, we were at PastForward in Savannah and went to a session where a local troop received their historic preservation badges.

Attendees were given the badge too. As former Girl Scouts ourselves, Kate and I were HYPED. Well, it’s five years later and today is the anniversary of the creation of the very first Girl Scout troop in 1912. The two of us were like “What if we actually did the guide too and EARNED our historic preservation badge?”

So, heads up everyone…for Preservation Month in May, Kate and I will be doing just that! Stay tuned for the fun!
