I'm at the Small Museum Association Conference today! It's so nice to see and meet (and commiserate with) colleagues! #sma2019
I went to the Sunday Scholars Brunch at the @PGAAMCC this afternoon. The topic was "Justice, Memory, and Sacred Grounds: Preservation and the Sugar Land 95" presented by Houston-based archivist and preservationist Valerie Ward. She said "There is a strong connection between social justice and preservation. Being able to establish the historic value of a place is crucial to civil rights and anti-gentrification efforts."
